My favorite recipe to serve at my family's holiday functions is my taco dip. It has 7 ingredients and takes a total of fifteen minutes to make. My sister asks me to make this every time she comes home from school! I got this recipe from a cousin on my dad's side. She had made it and brought to a family reunion and it was such a hit, my family continued to ask her to bring it. Finally, I asked her for the recipe so as to make it whenever we had our family get together's so we could enjoy it year round. We get together for all major holidays, birthdays, and hunting season. This is especially good during hunting season also because when the hunters bring in their birds, they can have a quick bite to eat after a hard day of walking and hunting! Our hunters love when I make this dip. They continue to ask for it day after day.
Ingredients are: 1 (8 oz pack) of cream cheese; 1 (8 oz tub) of sour cream; 1 pkg of taco seasoning; 2 tomatoes-diced; 1 head of lettuce-shredded; 1 jar (8 oz.) jar of salsa; 1 pack of shredded cheddar cheese.
1. Mix together with blender the sour cream, cream cheese, and taco seasoning until creamy.
2. Spread on a platter.
3. Spread the jar of salsa over the cream mixture.
4. Take shredded lettuce and spread over salsa.
5. Top with tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese.
This process takes a total of fifteen minutes Refrigerate after making until you are ready to serve.
Serve with any flavor of chips. My sister's favorite chips are tortilla chips, and my husband enjoys eating this dip with doritos. This dip can also be used to serve on tacos or enchiladas to give them a different flavor.
Enjoy!
