She hides from reality. She hides from the pain
She hides from the anguish she can't seem to restrain.
She's learned to manipulate her eyes to create a smile.
And she only has to hold that just for a little while.
Her torment follows her like shadows from the sun;
Peeking around the corners, laughing as she comes undone.
She holds fast to the Truth that she knows will set her free.
She clings to the cross of the One who came to be.
