SERVICES PROVIDED
1) Health care facilities. Sodexo has many contract accounts with health care facilities such as: Hospital, Rehab Center, Nursing Home, and also Retirement Community. "Patients/Residents are the heart of everything we do" is the motto that they used to keep the team in high spirit to provide the best care to the people that they serve in the facilities. Sodexo may only manage the entire nutrition department or, they might also be in charge with the operations and maintenance and/or transportation all together. Sodexo offer different variety of services that cater to their clients needs such as "At Your Request" dining options is to provide the conveniences of the customer to order their food whenever they want to.
2) Education facilities. Sodexo normally offer food service and facilities management to many colleges, universities and also school districts. They provide a variety of resident dining program, convenient store, retail dining, vending, catering and also nutrition and wellness program to the students. Some bigger colleges and universities also has a Registered Dietitian on staff to provide nutrition educations to the athletes and also other students that has special dietary needs.
3) Corporate Environment. Sodexo also offer food service which provides: Cafes, retails dining, catering, vending and office refreshments. Facilities Services includes: operations & maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping, security, and construction services. In addition they also offer business services which includes receptions, shipping and receiving, warehouse management and conference services.
4) Federal Government and Military Bases also acquired business from Sodexo to provide dining management and facilities management.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
As a Sodexo management myself, I really enjoyed the benefit this company has provided me. Here's just some of the basic:
1) Business Dues and Memberships. Sodexo has been paying all of my professional business and membership dues every year and also allow us to subscript to magazines that are related to our work.
2) Vacation Time/Personal Time/Holiday. Sodexo offers 15 vacation days, 2 personal days and 8 holidays per year and the sick time is accrued with the total hours you work per day. As their employees, we have the flexibility to use the holiday a month prior or after, so we can adjust our vacation time accordingly.
3) Retirement Plan/Stock Purchase. All Sodexo employees are automatically enroll in their 401(K) plan and you have the choice to select up to 25% of your pay and the company matches 50% of your first 6% contributions. Every year, you are also invited to enroll in the stocks purchase plan to own a piece of the company at a 10% discount rate of the current market value, but you have to hold the stock for at least 2 years.
4) Health Insurance. All employees are given the chance to enroll in the company health plan, you are given the benefits materials one month ahead to review which plan best suits you. All employees are also automatically enroll in the company's life insurance plan without paying a dime out of your own pocket.
5) Employee Discounts. Sodexo provides a lot of perks for their hardworking employees through employee discounts with many retail stores, mortgage services, and also counseling services (free of charge). Some of the discounted products includes: reduced rate in Hertz rental car, Dell & HP computer discount, Blue Nile jewelery store, Barnes and Noble, movies and entertainment ticket, etc.
6) Resources. Sodexo also provides employees only access website to provide all the company's resources on-line. We can access and use the resources anytime we wanted. Most of the training can also be done through on-line education site that they provide.
7) Tuition Reimbursement . Sodexo always encourages their employees to further their studies and enhance their own career. Sodexo also partners with Strayer University to provide on-line schooling for Sodexo employees. However, only the studies that are related to Sodexo services will only be reimburse, such as culinary, nutrition, business management, finance, marketing, human resources and legal studies.
Overall, I really like working with Sodexo and also love the flexibility that they have given me to further my career with the team. I can also transfer to other parts of the country and still work with Sodexo as the company has so many contract accounts across the country.
