Poetry: Pregnancy

Waiting for baby.

They tell us all she will arrive,
but we now wonder if they lie,
they said she'd come a while ago,
but since then days have fleeted by.

Now I'm a rather patient man,
I like a wait and chance to read,
but I to press have read two books,
yet still no call or single lead.

If she was not so swollen now,
I'd swear it, "phantom circumstance",
but as it is I know it's not,
and so I wait to drink and dance.

IN celebration of new life,
au natural or surgeons knife!
