A fearsome storm
freezing hail
blistering rain
mighty winds
and clouds as dark as night
follow wherever I go
outside this confinement
may be a bright sunny day
but to me, only this fearsome storm
anyone too close
will get sucked in, hence the mighty winds
so I keep my distance
viewing life through a door
not really caring about anything
just too lazy too bother
but, never at rest
tired and sleep deprived am I
still, I keep my distance
though I cannot understand why
when I no longer care
nothing matters
no one matters
at all
people see me
they shake their heads
they think I'm depressed
some even think I'm already dead inside
they think they know what's going on
they think wrong
nobody understands
this fearsome storm
raging around me
inside me
all about me
but, I really don't care
so I'll let them believe what they want
because it's simpler that way

I feel the pain,
