Halloween party food ideas

Every Halloween party needs a couple of deliciously spooky treats. Two of my all time favorites are a snap to make and will have your guest screaming with delight. Remember that presentation is everything when setting out you food for guests. This non alcoholic punch can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

Squirmy Wormy Halloween punch:

1 large can of unsweetened pineapple juice

1 cup of lemon juice

2 and 1/2 cups of cranberry juice

3/4 cup of sugar

1 small bottle of maraschino cherries, red or green, which ever you think is creepier

2 litres of ginger ale

Mix all of your ingredients together in a large punch bowl or a spooky cauldron.

Serve chilled

This Ghoulish punch is best prepared in a black cauldron, you can usually find one at any bargain or dollar store for just a few dollars. While you are there pick up a small package of Gummy worms. Add a few Gummy worms to your punch and hang some off the side of your cauldron. They add an extra special touch and are quite tasty. You can get really creative and come up with some funky and scary shaped ice. Experiment with different shapes and sizes, a rubber glove makes a great hand shape, and pop-caps are the perfect size for eye ball.

Macaron spiders:

Macaroons are one of the simplest cookies to make, there are even some no bake Macaroon recipes. Choose your favorite and prepare your Chocolate Macaroon recipe as you normally would. Before the Macaroons are fully set and hardened, attach black licorice for the legs, if you find the licorice too thick, just slice it in half. Adding red Smarties for the eyes gives your spider some personality. These little critters look good enough to eat, so go ahead and enjoy, everything on them is edible. Adding some webbing around the serving tray gives your Macaroon spiders a nice home and your guests a little fright.

With just a little bit of time, a few ingredients, and a good dose of imagination you can create frightfully delicious treats for your Halloween party guests. Just keep in mind that the whole purpose is to have fun and enjoy your fright night festivities. Remember that not all folks have a good strong stomach, going over board with the gore may very well turn some people off.
