A panda’s legend: from a daydreamer to a master
I’m a huge fan of animated films and have seen most of them on cinema in recent years. However I found not many of them can be remembered for a long time. If I have to list one most impressive animated film I would choose Kung Fu Panda with no hesitation.
Background:
Kung Fu Panda is an American animated film produced by DreamWorks Animation's studio. Although the concept of a "kung fu panda" has been around since 1993, work on the film did not begin until 2004. Finally it was released in 2008, and has since received very favourable reviews from critics and most of the movie-going public. Consequently it reached great position at the box office.
Plot:
In the Valley of Peace there is a noodle restaurant owned by a goose called Mr. Ping, who hopes one day his son, a giant panda named Po, will take over the restaurant to develop their family business. But Po is a kung fu fanatic with no interest in being a chef. What he wants is to become a great master in the discipline of kung fu. However given his weight and clumsiness it seems there is no hope for him to attain his desire.
One day the tortoise, Master Oogway, has a premonition that the evil snow leopard warrior Tai Lung will escape from prison and return to threaten the Valley of Peace. Given the situation Oogway decides to organise a formal ceremony to choose the Dragon Warrior, a supreme master of kung fu, who can lead their people to fight Tai Lung and protect the valley.
Hearing this news Po leaves home and attempts to see the chosen Dragon Warrior. But curiosity killed the cat and he finds himself in the middle of the ceremony at the moment when Oogway is about to designate the Dragon Warrior. Oogway is very impressed by Po's sudden appearance and to the surprise of all onlookers makes an announcement that Po is the ideal person to be the Dragon Warrior.
However the red panda Master Shifu and his Five acolytes are very disappointed with the decision and attempt to make Po quit by berating and humiliating him. Po himself also lacks confidence to take on the responsibility. Can Po become a real Dragon Warrior? Can Master Shifu train Po to such a level? Will he beat Tai Lung? The only way to find out is to go see the film.
Main characters and the voices:
1. The principal protagonist of Kung Fu Panda is a giant panda called Po. Although he is unenthusiastic about the noodle restaurant business he’s reluctant to upset his goose father by revealing
