The proper and effective use of knowledge is wisdom. A great amount of talent and an immense knowledge go waste without having a judicious and sane mind to use it properly, profitably and meaningfully. All the great prophets, saints and pious people preferred wisdom to wealth. They considered wisdom as a great blessing and a great gift of God.
A person having tremendous amount of wealth and knowledge cannot be called lucky if he does not possess wisdom to use both these blessings of God in judicious manner. Wealth can be obtained even by illegal and unfair means. Knowledge can be stuffed and crammed. But wisdom cannot be thrusted upon or imposed. It is an inner ability to distinguish between right and wrong, good and bad and positive and negative.
Wisdom helps us learn from our mistakes and blunders to improve and reform ourselves and brighten our future. Foolish is the person who does not learn any lesson from his past lapses. Wise is the person who learns from the mistakes of others. Once a religious scholar was asked as to how he acquired such a enviable knowledge. He replied, " I mixed with both good and bad people. I adopted the good qualities of pious people and shunned the bad qualities of evil people. Hence, I improved my knowledge and bettered my character".
Every sensible person always loves to be satiated with the fountains of wisdom, for he knows very well that his wisdom will always come to his rescue in the most perplexing and difficult situation, where sometimes both his wealth and knowledge badly and miserably fail to drive him out. Armed with wisdom, he becomes prudent and use his time, money, words and energy in a very constructive and profitable way, reaping immense benefits and getting resounding success in the long run.
Wisdom helps us become better person. It teaches us how to deal with the people and handle most critical situation ably and with alacrity. Every word we utter or write makes a desired impact or impression if coupled with great thought and wisdom. Such utterances from our part leave a very good impression upon our listeners and readers and can endear us among our friends.
It is, therefore, very important to seek wisdom. Thanks to our prudence and wisdom, we will be able to take the right course of action in this world, resisting all the temptations and captivating allurements of Satan, who is ever vigilant to pervert and mislead us. Our wisdom motivates us to follow the commandments of God, discarding and warding off all the evils and vices to be successful in this world and the Hereafter.
