Raised by her aunt and uncle, Sharon grew up in a small town, in Texas. Her parents had divorced when she was small. They had gone their separate ways to separate worlds where she had no part. For whatever reason, they had left her there. Her uncle was overbearing and quite strict, but her aunt was kind and loving and could rarely say no to the girl.
Her surrogate parents ran a small pilot service, which was actually a cover for a lucrative drug business. If you were on the outside looking in, you would never have suspected they were holding hands with the mafia. As Sharon grew, she knew someday that she was to inherit the business. She did not want it.
They said her father had remarried, had become a Christian, and had erased all ties that had to do with the business and his past. She though, was a part of his past, where did that leave her? She dreamed of her father, she longed for him. Her uncle could not fill his shoes. Her uncle offered very little as a father figure. She had a gentle loving nature, full of compassion for others. She knew all of the pilots. They were her best friends and they doted on her. She had many father figures in them. They adored her and tried to protect and shield her. She lived beneath their wings, so to speak.
Sharon grew up there, at the pilot service. Everything seemed fine, until she grew up and fell in love. A young black pilot had come on board and it was he, that Sharon gave her heart to. Her uncle would have none of that. He was enraged at the idea and put his foot down firmly. He even punched the young man, when he came to call. The large vase on the front porch was shattered in the brawl. Her aunt was sympathetic, but there was little she could do. Sharon was grown now, with a strong will and she continued to see her young man. They would meet secretly, neither able to hide their true feelings.
Then the money went missing. It was kept in a secret hiding place, but Sharon knew where that place was. There had been no need to hide it from her.It was the pilots pay and the mafias cut, quit a large sum of money. It was gone.In a situation like that, bad can quickly go to worse. Sharon and her boyfriend were accused. It was suspected that they had been intending to elope. She denied it fiercely but it did no good. There were others involved and they would have their money, one way or the other. Out of anger and for her safety, Sharon was sent away.
She was put on a bus and sent to her father.Arrangements had been made. Her father
