Poetry: Attraction

That kiss, so passionate yet so brief
Keeps spinning in my mind.
Causing me to lose sleep.
There's something about you,
Feel as though I can almost grasp,
That feeling that is there,
Like tendrils of a spider's silky web.
Feelings that for me are so real,
Yet to you so far unknown.
I wonder at night,
What it would be like
To be able to call you my own.
There are moments in time,
That for me will live on.
And yet so far you don't know,
What I think about you,
And how far I've fallen,
Don't know if I'll ever hit the ground.
It breaks my heart,
This not knowing.
But even scarier,
Is the thought of
Speaking up...
And then knowing for sure,
That I'll never have you.
How do these thoughts
That reside in my heart,
Unspoken
Ever leave my mind
So that I can have some peace
Peace from my thoughts of you.
I want to run away,
Think if I cannot see you
That I could ignore it.
For so long I was able to keep it repressed,
But now the thought of those soft lips,
Is all that consumes me.
And it consumes me fully.
And the only thought that
Echoes in my dreams is
What if...
