The importance of talking to your kids about sex and drugs...
*Provide sex education and drug use information:
In my opinion, this is of utmost importance to not only talk with our children about sex and drugs but to provide educational books, brochures, etc. to share with them as we discuss these topics with them. We need to be open and honest when we discuss these topics in a way to allow our children to feel comfortable and to see and to know these are serious discussions that will help make their lives richer and purer. It's my opinion, we, as parents, should tell our children sex is sacred and it is wise to keep their virginity for the mate they chose to share their life with..
It is my belief, if we approach children in a serious, calm, educated manner, they will listen and ask the questions they would like to know about each subject. When we discuss sex with our children, we should discuss all about the female reproductions organs, menstrual cycles, and how babies are conceived and about child birth. We should have the same discussion with both teenage girls and boys. We should allow them to know we are there for them to answer questions about anything that is troubling them about these subjects. When we do this as parents, our children will not be getting false information from their friends.
*Discuss venereal diseases:
We should discuss the many venereal diseases that can be caught by having unprotected sex and we should allow them to be aware that some of these diseases can kill them or lie dormant in their bodies to later appear at different stages in their lives. We should warn our daughters and sons that venereal disease plays havoc on a persons reproduction organs and it can cause many women not to be able to get pregnant (conceive) if they suffer from a terrible venereal disease. Let them be aware that protection is the safest route to take whenever they have sex, especially, if it is someone they do not know anything about.
*Provide all necessary tools on these subjects:
Making our children aware about sex and drugs is important factors to teach them. Many young children go around "not" knowing a thing about sex or what drugs will do to their lives. We should provide our children with literature, books, etc. about drug use, what it does to the human mind and body. We should take them to any talks that are being held for teenagers about drugs and there use. We need to provide everything that is possible to them to allow them to see how quickly a person can become addicted and what it can do to them as a person.
We must provide our children with all these necessary tools to teach them about sex and drugs and we should also monitor the type of friends our children are choosing to hang around with. Peers have a big influence our children. Get to know the children your children hangs around with and also their parents...you won't be sorry because no-one knows what kind of a family life another person is living.
