The hard edge of truth never needs to be sharpened.
There's no finer edge to slice to the quick.
It's a terrible thing that we fear and we dread
And a soothing obsession we can't seem to kick.

In its sudden bright light we may wish we were dead,
Yet the dawn of its daylight is life's sweetest song.
Truth's a violent marauder that cannot be stopped;
A loving protector that rights every wrong.

It's a double edged sword that you cannot co-opt.
It is harsh and cruel and fair and humane;
A weapon that slashes and maims and destroys,
Yet its scalpel, incising, eradicates pain.

We face the awful with dumbfounding poise.
We embrace the brilliant with quivering knees.
Loving and hating we seize and we send
And truth comes and goes like the breeze.

Don't find yourself wavering long to the end.
Opt the sting of the sword, the carnage of candor.
The war's not forever when truth comes to bear
For the bearer of truth wins forever the war.

Truth is our guide away from despair.
Truth is our judge, our accuser, our doom.
Truth is the reason we fight for the Song.
Truth is the passageway out of the tomb.
