Illegal is the keyword stated in this question. Would it be alright if legal Americans partook in illegal actions? Why not make it acceptable to gamble, to drive without a license, to steal what is not ours and do other illegal actions that the Constitution has been written for.
Yes, because of illegal immigration through the years we are now seeing the effects of this cause. Our hospitals are in debt because of illegal immigrants flooding emergency rooms for care that is not an emergency. No longer can a teenager cut grass, work in a pizza parlor, or other minimum wage jobs because illegal immigrants are willing to work for very little.
Who benefits from this? Hard working middle class families need for their children to work to help save for their first car, college, or perhaps just help with the household expenses. Meanwhile, whatever monies are made by illegal immigrants are not spent in the United States economy. The monies are being sent to their family members in other countries. It is a Catch 22, as not only can Americans find jobs, but income that is being made is not being taxed on.
Why should an illegal immigrant have the same rights as legal Americans? Do Americans go to other countries and demand free health care, social need programs, free schooling for our children, and all the other benefits that illegal immigrants are entitled to when in America.
If a person wants to come to America from another country they know how to work the system. They do not have to speak our language as we have made it the norm to "Press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish." By allowing this to go on for so long, we have given up many rights as legal Americans. Why should an illegal American be able to flood our health care system, and yet, a middle class hard working American who cannot afford health insurance is turned away for medical care.
I do not believe it is fair that an illegal American can say "No Speaka The English." and receive benefits while a hard working legal American would not even begin to know how to work the system.
What is good for America is that every legal American that is working should be entitled to benefits if and when they run into a crisis or a situation beyond their control. Yet, these entitlements are becoming harder and harder to come buy. Why? Simply because illegal immigrants who do not pay into our tax system have used up many of our precious resources. Government's answer to the illegal immigration crisis is to ignore it.
After all, legal Americans who speak English have no choice to keep paying for illegal immigrants entitlement through taxes, surcharges, newly created mandated government services, and ever other conceivable way our government can think of to drain hard working Americans trying to get by and do what is best for their family.
Illegal immigration is not good for America. Plenty of immigrants in the past came with nothing, learned the language, did jobs Americans already here did not want to do. The difference was they did not feel they were entitled to benefits they were not paying taxes for. What is occuring in our economic system is only the beginning of what illegal immigration has done to America.
