Finding a great place to live in Oklahoma is fairly easy. There aren't very many places in the Sooner State that should be avoided. Whether looking for a small town or a large city, there is a place for everyone. Generally speaking, unemployment is fairly low and the school systems are better than you will find in many other states.
Oklahoma City is a great place to live. The cost of living is fairly low and the crime rate is much lower than in cities of the same size in other parts of the country. Education is important to all of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City offers some of the best schools in the state. Getting around in Oklahoma City is easy. Rarely would you have to drive more than a few minutes to reach a major highway. You will never run out of things to do in Oklahoma City. Enjoy the nightlife of Bricktown, the museums, amusement and water parks as well as all the sporting events, both professional and college level. Oklahoma City is home to the best hospitals in the state. There are several colleges and universities in the area for those wanting to continue their education.
One of the finest school districts in the state is located in Moore, just south of Oklahoma City. Crime rates are even lower in this area of the Greater Oklahoma City Metro area. Jobs are abundant to those willing to work both in Moore and the surrounding areas. Within minutes of Oklahoma City, you will have access to all the entertainment you could possibly want without the hustle and bustle of such a large city. Moore is a growing city so housing, both new and pre-owned homes are readily available.
Go "Crimson and Cream" and move to the home of the University of Oklahoma in Norman just a bit south of both Moore and Oklahoma City. Norman also has great schools and a low crime rate. Housing can be more expensive than in Oklahoma City and Moore, but "country living" is more accessible, seeing it is further from Oklahoma City. The commute to Oklahoma City is easy for those who would want to work there.
Head northeast from Oklahoma City and live in Stillwater, home to Oklahoma State University. Not such a small town, it offers all the amenities of a small town. Situated half way between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, those living in Stillwater have access to all that the "big cities" have to offer. Oklahoma State University is the city's largest employer and jobs are readily available there. Many living in Stillwater choose to commute to either Oklahoma City or Tulsa for employment, both being
