Pretending
The dreams we dream
May never really be so
Though, the stars is where we belong
We may never go
I can make believe I love you
You can make believe you love me too
We can love like Romeo and Juliet
Forbidden desire through and through
I'll masquarade around
And dance on my toes
You make me the quen of the world
And I'll turn up my nose
You can hold me in your arms
And I'll close my eyes
In a crowded room, we are alone
Though, clearly we hear the sighs
But sitting here at the university
In theatre watching Show Boat
I'm just day dreaming again
Instead of taking notes
You're my Romeo my Gaylord Revenal
Though, reality says you're no more than a friend
Unless you want to make my dreams come true
But if not, I don't mind if we just pretend

Poetry: Pretending
Realising the past doesn’t stay dead,
That what was locked away,
Leaks back to mess with your head,
All this poison
by MK Bashlor
Your life
A whirlwind
I hate.
Its hard not to
Despise you too.
I wonder
Are you a victim,
Or devious controller,
Of your life,
And
I'm done pretending
this doesn't make sense, then
where does that leave me
without you? That's something I cannot see
I'm
by Carol Gioia
Out on a limb,
filled with regret,
balancing my act,
with no safety net.
Hovering on the edge
of uncertainty,
barely containing
by Lyn Adaway
Electronic Mongrel
.
This secret I avoided
Didn’t share with you
I’m really half android
Please hear me through
