I met you standin' by the school
You smiled and I fell like a fool,
It wasn't really true, but God, I missed you.
Sometimes we would just hang out
It happened slow; now there's no doubt
I dove right in the moment that I kissed you.
But now you walk all over me
You show up late, I'm wondering
Should I let go, should I let go, oh I don't know...
Oh oh oh, I'm nobody's second choice
And oh oh oh, get ready to hear my voice
You were a dream and it doesn't seem
That you know that I'm not just a second choice.
You said on Monday, if you're free
You'll maybe come and visit me
And I stayed up 'till midnight just to wait.
"Yeah, my brother had a game,"
Well you've got lying to your name
You maybe could have told me you'd be late.
But now I've got you figured good
You treat me like no one else could
Should I let go, should I let go, maybe so...
Oh oh oh, I'm nobody's second choice
And oh oh oh, get ready to hear my voice
You were a dream and it doesn't seem
That you know by now I'm not just a second choice.
And maybe someday we could start again, start again,
But if your heart ain't in it, it has to end, it has to end...
Oh oh oh, I'm nobody's second choice
And oh oh oh, no regret there in my voice
Cause now you know I've got to go
And I know in time you'll find I'm no second choice,
Oh oh oh, I'm nobody's second choice
And oh oh oh, I'm don't wanna hear your voice,
I should let go and I will so
But I know in time you'll find I'm no second choice...
Give me time to find my mind, cause I'm no second choice.
