Poetry: Observing time

by Courtney Petrella

Created on: September 19, 2009

if to be forgiven, is to forget,

is forgetting forgiveness?

We hurt, we cry,

were mad, we lie.

Forgetting is the hardest part of forgiveness,

forgiveness comes easier, because we can say we forgot.

It is said that time heals all wounds,

but, time is like forever, never too soon.

Time keeps the wounds open and deep,

I could go without the forgiveness,

but, forgetting is what I would like to keep.

You are supposed to hold on to the good memories and let bad ones go,

did I forget to forgive, or forgive to forget...no one will ever know...

.....That I forgot.
