He was given to me for just a short time,
this wonderfully happy little son of mine.
How strong and so proud he grew day after day,
As he ran all the mountains with his brothers to play.
These were four little guys who grew up to be,
the best ever sons I could ask for you see.
But this one was special as I grew to learn,
He'd watch for his brothers and all his concern.
His mission in life was one step above,
With animals and nature and all that he loved.
His outlook was cheerful, he loved the outdoors,
My Mountain Man Al was was a hippy of sorts.
He'd dance to the music of Jerry you see,
He loved all the people who loved to be free.
One day I was sorry to learn my worst fear,
My son would not live, this brought many tears.
And so he was strong and always a 'man',
he wouldn't let anyone lend him a hand.
But he thought of the pain that he knew we would feel,
and it bothered him so, that he made me this deal.
His text was a short one, and straight from his heart,
He wanted me to know, just right from the start.
"Mom please don't you worry, if anything happens to me,
cus I'll be up in heaven with Grandpa you see".
"We'll be there together and watch over you".
And thats just what happened, he's keeping it true!
See he was my Angel, and I have to say,
With a heart just so big, it took him away.
That final day came, but he couldn't wait..
My heart was apounding as I drove in my haste.
He'd said his good byes but with one last request,
"Please take care of mom, cus you know she's the best."
Their tears they did hide as they left to the store,
but soon came the call, "he's with us no more".
He passed in her arms as he'd wanted to be,
His wife of two years had laid down with he.
He knew it would hurt us to watch as he left,
My Mountain Man Al, had once more done his best.
So he was our Angel, and I just want to say,
"I miss you my son and will see you one day!"
But I do not cry, as each new day dawns bright.
I know he is happy while in the 'White Light'.
He's happy and healthy and running so free,
with his dog and his grandpa they watch over me.
My son and my Angel, I feel your sweet love,
Coming right through those clouds on the mountains above.
