Poetry: Real love

by Michele Langlo

Created on: September 18, 2009

There is a place

Where real love lives

Where two spirits collide

A searching of the souls begins

And tender exploration follows

To find those secret hidden places

Locked away in the deepest

Most clandestine chambers of the heart

Here begins a journey

Through winding corridors

On a mission of rescue

Of longing... long held hostage

By hurt and heartache

By rejection upon rejection

And the sorrow of goodbye

But most of all the fear

That unhealed wounds

May be discovered

And be found vulnerable

To further harm

But with soulful intertwining

Where real love lives

Where words of gentleness

And compassion

Can slowly melt away the past

Allowing two spirits,

And two souls

To penetrate each other

Taking great care

To only do so with warmth

And genuine concern

To cause no more darkness

To cause no more pain

And trust may be found

In physical touch

This is the place

Where the most wounded of hearts

Are fully healed

Where real love lives
