Songs: Remembering love

by Winfridah Mcekeni

I remember our love

Laying there together by the river banks

My head rested on your chest,

we gazed the skies in changing color

Colors infusing and amusing us along

We watched color to color painting the skies warm

The smudgy emerald waters bronzed

Blinded with the sun's glare,

our eyes were spell bound in the bowl of the sun

Our souls were engulfed in the blazing lava skies

We were wrapped in the covers of the golden ambiance

And together we escorted the sun beyond the horizon

From warm tawny to glassy sparkles spotting the heavens,

the stars took their place in the cold spaces of the firmament

We watched the rebirth of the nightly moon

spreading its light on the open body of water

And lo; the water was lit to life

I saw your face glow in the light

And your heart burned along

Your heart translucent as the lit waters

Your sparkling eyes revealing evident transparency

Undoubtedly you read the content of my heart through my eyes

And wrapped in the spring moonlight

We chased every shooting star as our hearts raced one on one

Lost in time; our hearts were entwined in the grace of love

Sure we were smitten and twined in Love

Then toe to toe our souls stood in the stillness of the night

Reaching for the furthest common destiny yonder

For memories onward; your breath delicious as the sweet air

And to infinity our spirits soared loosely

Embracing our shadows beneath the spring moonlight

It was pure love in sure insanity of its innocence

Flowing freely like life never ends

We floated in love in the spring moonlight
