THE HEART
From within, an ache that grows
Filling the boundaries of my mind
Spreads the pain and on it flows
To reach the heart and be unkind.
It's truth speaks out to tell the tale
Your inner self in on display
"HYPOCRITE! You've left your trail.
You were the Devil's protege!"
And now you see it in their eyes
The disrespect that has been earned
The self deceptive pack of lies
That never brought the love you'd yearned.
How do you try to explain to some
The deep desire for a touch, a song
That melts the heart that feels so numb
And is needed now to right the wrong?
How do you fire the heart once more
To make it sing its tune again
To give it curiosity to explore
You can't. You see, it died, my friend.

A Molten Heart
Do you ever experience that feeling,
Of things unknown, yet known to come?
When you feel the opposite of déjà

When the sunrise smiles on the peony...
When the rose is kissed

My heart is on the floor.
It lays there where you left it,
When you walked right out the door.
I

at rest where it's safe
your scars though healed
so deep and afraid of pain
Reality now your keeper
I feel
