Product reviews: Lush Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt

Have you ever wanted to sink into a big soft, sweet marshmallow and relax? That's exactly how you feel when you step into a Melting Marshmallow Moment (Mmm) bath.

I find it's best to wait until you are exactly ready to step in. I like the water to be quite hot - although I hear this can be very bad for your skin. So, have the water at a nice, comfortable temperature and step in. THEN place your Mmm into the water and watch it slowly froth. This one is a really slow one; it's not like a bath ballistic. It slowly fizzes and turns the water bright marshmallow pink with a lovely luxurious foam on top.

.....The benefits.....
The Mmm is packed with cocoa butter. There are actually some small pieces of cocoa butter within the melt and you see them melting into the water as you sink in! Cocoa butter is very good for the skin. It relieves dryness and irritation; it helps with itchy and flaky skin as well as easing the tightening sometimes felt after using soap.

The ingredients list has Sodium Bicarbonate as the main ingredient. This is what gives the Mmm its frothy quality and aerates the bath water to get the fluffy, soft feeling. Many people don't realise that sodium bicarbonate is also a very soothing and healing ingredient.

Almond oil is used in this product too. This is a very sweet smelling and softening product. It contains lots of vitamin E which is an excellent antioxidant and skin protecting vitamin.

The last important ingredient are chamomile powder and marshmallow root. Chamomile is a very soothing product which is great for sore, red or irritated skin. It is calming and soothing and an excellent ingredient to have in your bath! Marshmallow root is quite thick and adds to the softness of the water. It used to be used to treat digestive issues, hence it being made into sweets!

The main benefit, however, is the actual act of having a lovely warm and relaxing bath.

.....My opinion.....

There is just something so luxurious about sinking into a bath. It is almost as if you really shouldn't be doing it, a guilty pleasure. I've looked at a huge pile of uni stuff on my desk, just waiting to be worked through and then disappeared into a wickedly indulgent Mmm bath. It's so tempting.

The scent of this product is completely bewitching. It's sweet, very very sweet. But I don't find it sickening in any way. It smells of marshmallows yes and also vanilla, which I think comes from the high concentration of cocoa butter. It actually just smells delicious. It smells soft and sweet like a marshmallow.

In the bath, the heat makes the scent float through the entire house. The melt froths and fizzes gently and creates a luxurious foam on top of the water while the rest mixes through the bath water turning it pink and soft.

On leaving the bath, you would imagine it would be difficult to get rid of the pink colour, this is not the case. Simply rinse around with the shower or a wet sponge and it's done!

I link to wrap up in a big fluffy towel and get all dried off in the hot bathroom. The Mmm leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised but in no way greasy. Just lovely and smooth and sweetly scented.

The scent doesn't particularly linger on the skin, depending on how I feel that day that can be a positive or a negative! If I want to wear my own perfume then this is a good thing, but if I want to smell of Lush all day, this one doesn't really do it I'm afraid. But the skin benefits much outweigh that.

A Mmm costs 3.35 pounds.
