My Miracles

Exquisite moments in time,

engraved upon my mind, my heart, my soul

Reverently remembered, each one, for always

Magical, surreal, powerful, each one

Celebrated with clouds of confetti,

tossed whimsically toward the heavens

while crystalalline tears of pure happiness flow

Announcing to the masses

that new life has begun

deep within this woman's womb

A precious gift bequeathed to me

not once, not twice, but four incredible times

So blessed, so thankful

In awe, I watch and feel and discover

as the miracle of life unfolds

within this woman's womb

Tenderly, my hands fan out

upon my expanding body

Confident in the knowledge

that the tiny soul, within this woman's womb

is anchored safely, securely, sweetly

Gently floating, swaying,

absorbing all that is needed

Mesmerized by new sensations

Imagining the tiny toes and fingers,

miniature pink fists,

confirming the presence of a dream come true

Sweet child

within this woman's womb

how I wonder who you'll look like,

Brown eyes or blue?

Freckles or dimples?

A thousand times I've pondered

A million times I've smiled

The anticipation of you, sweet baby

Saturates me with a joy and completeness

I've never known

Oh beautiful wee child of mine

I can hardly wait to meet you
