Huntsville, Alabama is home to several Mexican restaurants but only few are known to be the best. Some have lavished decorations where as others are a simply a hole in the wall. Even the simplest hole in the wall can sometimes surprise you if you know where to look. Below is a list of Mexican restaurants that local residents brag about. Los Mayas Restaurant

Located in the Hampton Cover area at 322 Sutton Road SE, this has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Huntsville area. Technically in Owens Crossroads, it is worth the drive up the mountain to tempt your pallet with authentic Mexican dishes.

El Dorado Mex Grill

This is another small Mexican restaurant that tends to go unnoticed. However, once you taste the food you will never be able to forget it. With Mexican music playing softly in the background, the food is not the only thing you will enjoy. They make some of the best margaritas in town. So if you are looking for a small Mexican restaurant that is easy on your budget, try visiting El Dorado at 1401 Weatherly Road SE.

Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

Guadalajara is a quant restaurant with good food at a great price. The staff is always pleasant and smiling. Although not as glamorous as other restaurants, the food and price makes up for the visual down falls. If you want an atmosphere that isn't crowded or very loud, you may want to check this place out. Guadalajara is located at 11208 Memorial Parkway SW.

Rosie's Mexican Cantina

Rosie's is one of the more popular Mexican restaurants in Huntsville. Companies and other groups tend to make reservations with this Mexican restaurant. Others go for good food and company. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a while to be seated. With decoration to tease the eye, tantalizing smells to entice your nose, and with food that aims the please the hungriest of bellies, having to wait to enjoy the goodness is to be expected. There are three Rosie's locations to choose from. One is in South Huntsville located at 7540 Memorial Parkway SW. The other two are located at in North Huntsville at 6125 University Drive NW and 6196 University Drive NW.

La Alameda Mexican Restaurant

What many residents love about La Alameda is the buffet. This is another hot spot to find a good margarita. The restaurant isn't that big but the staff is friendly and attentive without
