Its 4:00 on a Wednesday afternoon and your kids just got home from school You here I'm bored! There's nothing to do! That's where this article comes in.
Here are 13 different activities/games that your kids or you can put together in under 10 minutes. Some of these activities/games might require different materials that need to be accumulated.
Obstacle Course:
1. Place a few hoola hoops on the ground for the kids to run through (think Army training with running through the tires).
2. Then they have to run to the tree and circle it three times.
Have some gun with this! See what you can get your kids to do!
Scavenger Hunt:
1. This can be played both indoors and out.
2. If older kids are playing, have them find objects but give them directions to the objects. E.g. Look for me 5 paces west of where you stand.
Different Tag Games:
1. There are many different tag games out there. Try to see what you can find.
2. Examples are: freeze tag, normal tag, flags.
1. These are perfect for both indoor and outdoor play! They set up and pack up easily!
Bubbles:
1. Always fun!
2. See how many the kids can catch.
3. Who can blow the biggest bubble?
*TIP*: When making your own bubble solution, add a tsp. of glycerine or cooking oil to your water and detergent mix to make the bubbles stronger.
Sand Box:
1. Find different shaped moulds, a sieve, shovels and water.
2. Using these tools see what the kids can create!
Chalk:
1. With all of the different side walk chalk products available these days, your kids can have hours of fun making masterpieces!
Hoola Hoop Competition:
1. Who can hoop the longest?
2. Can anyone use their arms or legs?
Ring Toss:
1. If you have a couple of hoola hoops and some tree branches or old hockey sticks lying around, this game is definitely an easy set-up!
2. Just stick the branches or hockey sticks into the ground and toss the hoola hoops at them.
Water Balloons:
1. Get out the bathing suits!
Badminton:
1. Very easy set-up. Especially if you have one of those long clothes lines.
Skittles:
1. Save all of your drink bottles for a couple of weeks.
2. Wash out 6-12 bottles.
3. Fill bottles halfway with stones or sand.
4. Draw a chalk circle on the ground.
5. Place skittles (bottles) in circle.
6. Use a ball to see how many skittles you can knock out of the circle.
7. Or you can always just set-up like a normal bowling game.
Kids are creative! Ask them to come up with a game. You could very well be surprised with what they come up with!
At least one of these games will save you from the dreaded I'm bored. Just keep this list handy and ask the kids what they feel like doing!
