Recognized by the Southeastern Tourism Board, Big Spring Jam is one the largest outdoor concert events in the south. With bands performing on several stages, this spectacular music festival began in 1993 and has reoccurred each September since. Big Spring Jam has a history of being host to local bands along with some well-known names in the music industry. Some of the bands that have performed include Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Akon, Taylor Swift, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, Alice Cooper, Alabama, Incubus, the Village People, and so many more. In fact, there have been hundreds of talented musicians that have performed at this event.
Musicians from all over the country come to perform and help raise money for charity. Big Spring Jam has been responsible for raising millions of dollars for local charities, arts and entertainment organizations, and other services. So not only are you going to have a great time, but you are helping raise money for local charities and organizations.
Admission
There are several options for buying tickets. You can purchase VIP weekend passes at their website for $65.00. This allows you to attend this 3-day event as well as having access to the park 30-minutes early before the rest of the public is allowed in.
Another ticket option is a regular weekend pass for $45.00. This can be purchase at local business and online at the website. The weekend passes will not be sold at the gate so be sure to get your tickets in advance.
The third ticket option is a single day pass. Each one costs $25.00. You can purchase these tickets online just like the weekend passes. The only other place to purchase a day pass is through the VBC ticket office or at the gate on the day you want to attend.
Parking Tips
Parking is available at a variety of parking garages downtown. There is a parking garage located next to Big Spring Park, called the VBC parking garage, but it fills up quickly so you may want to arrive early or park at another garage and walk to the event. Other garages are the Central City parking garage located on Clinton and Colonial parking garage located on Fountain Circle. Parking at local businesses is discouraged and some places will have your vehicle towed.
Be aware that during Big Spring Jam, there are certain roads that are closed surrounding the event. These roads include Williams Avenue, Monroe Street, parts of Clinton Avenue, and parts of Church Street up to the parking garage entrance.
