President Bush making a comeback is about as possible as me being a millionaire today. The odds are not in his favor. This last election proved that. The people who came out and voted clearly sent a message to the people they were electing. Watch Out-You May Be Next!
The Middle East conflict, the concerns about immigrants, the good paying jobs becoming extinct, the World opinion of The United States and the newly elected Congress will make it difficult for any president to make a comeback.
The Middle East has always been a hotbed of trouble. The prophecies predicted that the Middle East would be the reason for World War III and we are living it now. We have stuck our noses into that part of the world for many years and the reason-OIL. Then a small group of fanatics talked each other into believing that they should fight for their country and their rights under Islamic Law. Doesn't sound too much different than Christians fighting for their rights under moral values. So under the mask of weapons of mass destruction we the people stood behind our government and called for an invasion of a country to throw out its leader. Now that the truth has been told, this country and its president are stuck in a no win situation. The most powerful military in the world is being used to babysit a country who is in a civil war funded by outsiders; who too want to take over the-Oil.
The concerns of immigrants are valid to those that are affected. This country was built by immigrants. But what is different today is these immigrants have come here illegally. We are told by this president that these immigrants are doing the jobs that Americans do not want to do. Maybe we are not doing these jobs because we cannot afford to do these jobs. Earning minimum wage to an immigrant is like earning $50,000 to Americans. They do not require break times, holiday time, vacation time, benefits, etc. They are cheap labor.
The good paying jobs have been outsourced to other countries because the cost of wages, taxes and benefits for each employee has cut into the companies' profits. The middle class is becoming extinct. This group of people represents the majority of Americans. Their vote does and will matter in the future.
The World's opinion of America has always been diverse. Some think of us as the World Saver;while others think of us as the World's Invaders. Our present government has given the impression to the World that we are fighting the extinction of terrorism and to promote democracy making the World saver to live in. But in reality this government is spreading hypocrisy, which then promotes terrorism. Most of the World does not see us as a benefit to their country. They see us as imperialistic.
Since our current president is considered a "maverick" it is up to the newly elected Congress to take steps to prove to Americans and the World that this country is a model for the betterment of the World's population. Not by its military might, but by its wisdom, compassion and truth. We are a young country compared to the countries we are dealing with today. President Bush lacks the ability or the confidence in him to make a comeback.
