Benefits of being on a track team

Track, the sport that has been done since the first Greek Olympics, still is one of the greatest sports. Imagine, running as fast as you can, finishing, and then doing it all again a few minutes later, after a quick rest, with a totally different distance and speed. This requires much skill, skill that you will gain during track. Track is a great sport that will give you many talents that will make for a healthy, productive lifestyle.

With track, you will gain many mental abilities or benefits during your runs and events. The first one, although you might have never thought about it, is creativity. You can create new methods or styles of some of the events yourself. You'll also learn how to prepare; you will have to be ready and know how you will do the events and in what order. Then you must learn to remember how to do various events and learn to concentrate and focus. Lastly, you might practice your math during track. When timing, and trying to break records, math will be used. Also, seeing the world records and finding out how far off you are, math is a tool. Mental benefits come from being in track, but physical benefits really make this an excellent sport.

Track also contains many physical benefits. Obviously, you will gain strength. This will come with leg strength and some arm strength from running, throwing, and jumping. It is possible that you could also become faster, although this does not happen with everyone. You will also have better endurance. That is because of the long distance running and the very long track meets we have. Finally, you will notice an improvement in agility. Events such as the running long jump and discus require agility. Along with agility, there is timing. It is a knowledge of when to do something and is a lot like agility. Many events in track require agility, and you will gain in from being in those events. Track has many physical benefits for those who participate in it.

There are many reasons as to why track is a great choice for an exciting sport that will have you feeling accomplished. There is no better sport for a unique type of competition and an extensive list of benefits. It is truly an ancient sport that will be around for hundreds or even thousands of years to come!
