Words in the Bible
that once appeared to be outlandishly ridiculous
or at least mere foolishness
are now Pearls of a priceless nature.
I have, of a certainty,
been transformed into a new creature,
for all things have become new to me.
The things I did see, I see no more;
and things I never saw before, I now see.
The foolishness of God
is wiser than the wisest of men.
The weakness of God
is stronger than the strongest of men.
For what man thinks is
is not,
and what man thinks is not
is.
I am so confounded!
Now that I can see,
I can't understand
why I could not see before.
The Truth is so obvious;
it shouts out and jumps at my face.
It has paraded
up and down before my eyes always.
It has beckoned to me and said,
"Here I am! Here I am! Look at me!"
I looked right through it
as though it was not there.
It is the marvelous and wonderful
work of God;
the invisible work of God
that's not invisible.
Not only is His Truth in the Scriptures,
But it is also in the world,
all around us,
staring us in the face.
We look upon it every day,
we think upon it every day,
yet no one sees it
and no one hears it.
We have all been blind and ignorant,
seeing nothing,
and knowing nothing.
O Paul, Paul, Paul!
How completely misunderstood you have been,
and are still being misunderstood by so many.
The Biblical scholars do not understand you;
neither do the theologians.
If that be the case,
what chance does the poor laymen have
of understanding you?
The Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah every year.
They do it to keep alive a message
to each succeeding generation.
They've done this for thousands of years
so that people to come will remember
the Gift of Life,
and will know to choose
Life and Freedom.
They've passed this message on
for many generations,
but the message is no longer alive.
To whatever lands their migrations carry them,
they carry with them the bones of that message,
for the flesh of it
has long since decayed away.
They carry with them
other messages in like manner.
The same can be said of the Christians;
they carry with them many old relics,
the bones of the Saints.
Why was this Knowledge given to me?
Why was I chosen
to receive these Great Things?
Why wasn't it given to someone
a little less insignificant than me?
Why me, Lord?
Why me?
Here I am -
nobody -
living in a little town in Texas
that can boast of only a little more
than a hundred souls.
And here, in this insignificant little town,
in this insignificant little person -
rests the Word of God.

Fragrant burning was ignited,

Is it not written?
'The soul that is sinning',
'It itself will die!'
Now if the soul lived after death,

when even in Columbus's day
