Poetry: Broken & lost

by Gilbert Barrett

Created on: September 16, 2009

In a land of fat and waste , it's the vial secretions of you that i taste.
Cholesterol milkshakes to wash down your mouthful of hypocrisy.
Shoving dollar bills up fat asses while another starves overseas!
Who has been thrown under the bus . . . "why it's the man with no dimes."
With no ashes to ashes or dust to dust . .."why it's the man with no dimes."
Who is the gears that keep a nation running . ."why it's the man with no dimes."
Who's given a rifle and told watch for the cunning . ."why it's the man with no dimes."
Who's lifestyle do you use for your amusement . . ."why it's the man with no dimes."
Who is there for mechanical improvement . . ."why it's the man with no dimes."
When your system fails and all your gigabytes leave you in the dark and the cold who will have the lantern to hold . . ."why it's the man with no dimes."
So while you loathe in your greed and waste remember that often simplicity leaves a better taste.
