Looking for something to do in the Huntsville area? Huntsville has many events and activities in the each fall. Most of the activities are family friendly so it limits the need for a babysitter. However, there are events that are specifically designed for adults.
Continuing with an annual tradition, Huntsville Botanical Gardens will be hosting the Scarecrow Trail. Each weekend during September and October is packed full of family fun as you will be able to enjoy hayrides, a creepy maze, and even an enchanted forest. This is a perfect get-away, even for families with young children. Ticket pricing is $10.00 for adult non-members, $8.00 for members, and $5.00 for children age 3-18. Tickets may be purchased at the website or by calling Special Events at (256) 430-3572 ext. 241.
Each year, the Northeast Alabama Craft Association (NEACA) hosts a three-day event allowing talented artists and craftsman to show off and sell what they have created. Located in the South Exhibit Hall 2 of the Von Braun Center, the NEACA Fall Craft Show is open on Friday and Saturday from 9am to 7pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Five Feathers Motorcycle Rally
Located at the Oldtime Pottery Barn parking lot, this is a fun event for the whole family. There will be Native American drumming and dancing, live bands, animals from the North Alabama Wildlife Rehab (NAWR), vendors, and many more activities. It is free to the public and is a kick-off party for the annual Trail of Tears Memorial Ride. Friday activities are from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. On Saturday, entertainment starts at 8am and lasts until 12:00 pm. Riders going to Waterloo will leave the parking lot at 11:30 pm.
This is just one of Huntsville's most talked about annual events. It is a must see event for all ages. Bands from a variety of genres attend each year. Some of the performers that have attended include big names such as The Village People, Akon, The Black Crowes, Collective Soul, and so many more. Friday performances start at 6pm and the last performance starts at 10:30 pm. Saturday performances start at 4:30 pm, with the last performance starting at 10:30 pm. Sunday performances start at 4:30 pm, with the last performance starting at 9:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the website for $60.00 for a full weekend pass allowing you to enter the gate 30 minutes before it is open to the public.
