How to make money by crafting in RuneScape

Crafting is one of the most underrated skills on RuneScape. Many players don't see that crafting has so much value and plenty of ways to make tons of money. All you need to know is what to craft, when to craft, and where to craft to make a steady routine that makes a steady amount of money.

1. If you are a beginner crafter with the level of 1, then you should start off by making pottery. You'll earn a nice amount of experience while gaining a couple of levels by the time you can make something else. You will need to mine some clay that can be found in West Varrock, Barbarian Village, and the Dwarven mines.

Once you feel that you have enough clay, you should bring a bucket or a jug to fill it water and use it on the clay. These two combined will make soft clay. You must use your soft clay with a pottery wheel then transfer it to a pottery oven (the nearest one is in Barbarian Village) to make pottery items.

2. Make armor from leather. Start off by killing the cows near Lumbridge to obtain their cowhides. Enter the toll gate to Al Kharid and go to the crafting shop there to buy a nice amount of thread and a needle if you don't have either one of those. Have the needle, thread, cowhides, and some extra money on you to visit the tanner. He's located in the building above the smithing furnace.

Once you speak to him, you must tell him what type of leather you want him to make out of the cowhides you have. Note: you need money to convert the cowhides to leather. I recommend starting off making soft leather which will cost you 1 coins per cowhide being converted. Now you can use your needle on your leather of choice to craft any item you wish depending on your level. Same steps goes for snakeskin leather and dragon hide leather; except it will cost more to convert them.

3. Craft jewelry. This is my favorite crafting method to make money because it's fun and super simple. Crafting jewelry will give you a lot of experience if you don't stray off course. First, you'll want to go mining in the Dwarven mines or the mines in the dessert of Al Kharid. Find the gold and silver mining rocks and start mining both and bank them till you feel that you have enough to start the next step.

Next step is to go to a nearby furnace (preferably the one in Al Kharid or the one in Falador depending on where you decided to mine.) Smelt all your ores and make them into bars, once you've done that; search the craft store, general store, or Grand exchange for different kinds of moulds you wish to use.

Don't forget to buy a chisel to cut the gems you want to put on your jewerly. Wondering what types of jewelry you can make? You can make rings, necklaces, bracelets, amulets, holy symbols, unholy symbols, and tiaras.

4. String objects. Doing this won't give you much experience, but it adds up in time. You can shear sheep for their wool to make strings (aka chains) for amulets, unholy and holy symbols. If you are a member then you have the option of of making bow strings, crossbow strings, and magic strings.

These are only some creative and reliable ways to make money with your crafting skills. Pick which one works the best for you and stick with it and you'll see an increase in your bank account.
