The world's funniest joke

by Jacob Langford

Created on: September 16, 2009

I have heard quite a few funny jokes in my time and my travels but two of them stand out as the funniest to me. The first one in fact is (was) actually voted as the world's funniest joke two years ago. Here it is!

Two men are out hunting when one of them mysteriously passes out and drops to the ground. His friend cannot wake him up and thinks he might be dead or nearly dead. He quickly gets out his cell phone and calls 911. The 911 operator asks what the emergency is and he says I was hunting with my friend and he passed out and died. The operator says OK first make sure he is dead and he says ok and there is a long pause. The operator hears a gun shot in the background. The man gets back on the phone and says "OK now what?"

The next joke is one I heard from a Scottish man with a thick accent who said this was the best joke in Scotland.

Two men are playing golf and about to putt when they see a funeral procession drive by so they bow their heads for a moment of silence. One man says how sad, I wonder how the died. The older man then says it was cancer, she had been battling for a few years. The other man asks how he knew that. So the old man says well I was married to her for forty years.

Both of these jokes offer some humor as well as a good story. The second one about the man playing golf during his wife's funeral is funny, however I have found most women do not find it as humorous as men and with for good reason. That is the comical part is that who really plays golf on the day of their spouse's funeral.

The first joke about the hunters really has to be the best joke. I mean they are best friends and he literally listens to the 911 operator by making sure he is dead. So he shoots him! Genius, I mean wow he really takes it seriously. Anyways I am a huge fan of jokes and funny stories and am always open to hearing new ones in case anyone wants to let me know. Keep laughing, keep telling jokes and keep a positive outlook towards life.
