Whether you're a high school freshmen or a NBA pro, the key to improving your game and being at the top is practice. Everyone practices, the improvement in personal game as well as team coordination is the drills you're running. You want to run drills that will help you become more experienced in situations that you will hit in an actual game. Her are some of the most popular drills used by professional NBA coaches.

Full Court Shooting Basketball Drills - Make two lines, one on each side of the court. Each line has one ball. Players push the ball up the court and shoot the shot called.

Three Lane Basketball Drill - Pass and catch the ball with two hands. Make three lines of players on the baseline. Players in the middle have a ball. Drill starts with a player in the middle passing to the left. A player on the left catches the ball and then passes it back to the middle. The middle player then passes the ball to the right player as all three sprint toward the basket. When the middle player catches the ball, makes a bounce pass to one of the players to his side for the lay-up. When the group reaches the half-court line the next group begins their run down the court.

Five-Man Weave Basketball Drill - This time you want to make five lines on the baseline. Each group of five players makes three cycles up the court then makes a lay-up.

Shooting Basketball Drills - Everybody make a line and a captain passes the ball to a player who then shoots as fast as possible. Free Throw Shooting Basketball Drills

Free Throw Basketball Shooting Drill - Every player may one day have the opportunity to end up at the free throw line with everybody in the stands watching them. This can be a lot of pressure and could be great for your career or hurt it. So, this drill is very important. Everyone lines up and shoots one right after another. The drill is run until somebody makes ten shots.

Defense/ Offense Basketball Drills 1 on 1 Basketball Drill - This is ran the same way as the 2 on 2 but allows for a more aggressive offense and defense.

3 on 3 Basketball Drill - This is also very similar but is ran full court. Starting at one end of the court, the offense must take the ball to the other basket. If the offense scores, it's over. If the defense recovers the ball, they must proceed back to the starting point and score.

5 on 5 Full Court Control Basketball Drill - Same as the 3 on 3 but more players and a faster pace that allows for more passing and complex plays.

Line Basketball Shooting Drill - Each Player in the line starts slightly bent over , when they catch the ball they must pivot on their inside foot. Players then curve or lean into their shot.

Rebounding Basketball Drills

2 on 2 Rebounding Basketball Drill - Two players will play defense while the other two players are offense. They start at half court and dribble and pass the ball while proceeding toward the hoop. When the offense shoots, the defensive players must try to recover the rebound or block the shot. If the offense gets the ball, they try to score quickly. If a defensive player gets the ball, the drill is over and they start over.
