Poetry: If I die today

by Gary Betts

Created on: September 14, 2009   Last Updated: July 18, 2011

If I die today,

That's fine by me,

I do not fear Death,

As you may see.

I spit in Death's eye,

I mock the dark Prince,

He cannot harm me,

That makes him so tense.

I don't think of Death,

Nor do I dream,

I can beat this guy,

'Cause God's on my team.

From Death will I get,

The purest of love,

My spirit will rise,

To Heaven above.
