Soft as the wind that blows on the green grass
He slowly moves the strand across my face.
Lying in his arms,
I think,
I wander across the things I did,
Trying to pick an answer.
An answer that will tell me
What I did to deserve him.
As my lids move I see the blue skies
And I know
I know the truth.
I travel back and see;
Those nights-
Those nights that were sleepless,
with a heart that was torn.
When tears shielded my eyes
and lips mumbled prayers,
without knowing if it was heard.
Well I guess I know now,

lifting me up, carrying me.
Taking me to places I have never seen.
Feeling things that I have never felt.
I see the beautiful blue sky
I whisper to the unseen:
I know
I know that you heard my prayers
Not only did you hear them
But gave me more
An angel.
My angel.
How did I know?
I feel heaven
whenever he holds me close,
close in his arms.
