Why we exist

Why do we exist?

What is the reason for our life on this earth, and who put us here in the first place? These are questions that have haunted Mankind from the moment we began to stand upright and gaze at the stars in wonder. Wondering among all of those billions of stars and galaxies about our own place in the grand scheme of things.

So let us look at the first question: Why do we exist? This is a question that even the greatest minds in our history have failed to answer to a satisfactory conclusion. Oh, we can all hypothesize on one answer or the other, but the bottom line is that we do not know why we exist at all, and indeed, why we should be here at all. The general answer to this most simple yet haunting of questions is the one that everyone generally goes by: That we are here for a reason, as to what that reason could be, we do not know, but the majority of us surmise that we are here to learn.

My take on this question is exactly that - that we are here to learn. That Earth, our planet, is like a giant school, or college, or even better a university {ever heard of the saying: The University of Life}? Well, to my mind that is what Earth is all about, it is an education, a university if you will, in which those born into this life never stop learning. With each lesson learned our souls grow and expand, and indeed, if one really thinks about it deeply enough, then life itself is set up in such a way that we learn all about love, compassion, patience, loyalty - as well as hatred, impatience and all the negatives and disappointments associated with our lives here on this planet..

I believe that the reason we exist is for one thing and one thing only, to enable us to grow spiritually, as well as physically. Like the body, the spirit - that spark of life that keeps us alive and makes us what we are - also needs nurturing and looking after. This may be looking at things in a simplistic way, but to my way of thinking, with each good deed we do to any living creature on this planet it will be paid back to us - the same treatment will be meted out to us, not only in this life, but in the next life to come.

And of course, this also works in reverse, anything bad we do in this life is reflected - sooner or later - back to ourselves. I believe that the world, is made up of negative and positive energies that are forever on the move. Any manipulation of these energies {for the good or bad}, is reflected back on us which can result in a very kind-hearted patient and loving
