Poetry: Raindrops

by K. C. Cox

Created on: September 14, 2009

Raindrops

Freefalling from loftiest cloud

Dancing from leaf to leaf

Sliding down the branches

To a pool of brothers brought before

The raindrop, having no agenda

Goes where it may

Splashing onto highest rooftops

Sliding easily to the edge

And drips

Onto the ground

Where it nourishes

Cools, hybernates

Until the sun comes out

Heating the earth

Evaporating each raindrop

Into the sky

To once again

Be freefalling from the loftiest cloud
