This type of tea party idea is for little girls, so if you're planning one for your little darling, it's easy to set it up if you have a theme. For example, if your little girl likes anything to do with Disney Princesses, then have a Disney Princess tea party with the character of her choice. There are eight Disney Princesses and they are: Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan and Jasmine.
Decoration for a Disney Princess Tea Party:
A garden lawn is a perfect venue for a tea party and you can have it also at the patio (if you have one) just decorate the place with an arch of flowers. If the celebrator likes Cinderella, it's nice to put some hanging pumpkin lanterns for an added accessory. For Belle's theme, a vase of red roses as a table centerpiece or the arch covered with red roses will do. Snow White's theme can have red apples in a bowl as a table centerpiece or if you want to go the extra mile, you could ask a Potter to make a garden decor of the seven dwarfs. For Princess Aurora or Sleeping Beauty, a simple arch of flowers for decoration is okay. Pocahontas can have makeshift Indian tepees as background or if that is not possible, a bird cage with Lovebirds will do just put this at the side of the table. Mulan can have hanging lamps covered with cloth in bamboo frames as a decor. Table clothes for these themes should be simple with some floral prints. Princess Jasmine can set her tea party on a large carpet. Just put a long low table covered with satin table cloth at the center for the china wares, tea and desserts. As seats, they can have throw pillows with silk covers to sit on. Ariel's tea party is much nicer if it's set at the pool area to go with the "under the sea" theme, but if you don't have a pool, then just go with the garden setting with floral arch decor. Table cloth for this theme should have a seashell print or anything with an ocean theme printed on it. You could also make sea shell place card holders for each guest as an added accessory. Use floral china wares for serving the tea and desserts.
For the Food:
The perfect desserts you can serve for each Princess theme, that they can eat with the tea are: pumpkin muffins (in pumpkin shape) for Cinderella, French pastries with strawberries for Belle, apple pies or tarts for Snow White, blue berry cheesecakes for Aurora, seahorse shaped cookies for Ariel, corn bread for Pocahontas, taro bun or sweet wives cakes for Mulan and cinnamon rolls for Jasmine.
Dress code:
Invite the guest to come in their ball gowns for the Royal Princesses' theme (Cinderella, Belle, Snow White and Aurora), Chinese inspired or Oriental style dresses for Mulan's theme, Indian outfit for Pocahontas, Arabian or gypsy inspired dress for Jasmine and bikini tops and shorts for Ariel (if the tea party is set at the poolside, but if not they can also dress in ball gowns).
Customize your invitation card according to the theme of your tea party. For Cinderella, use a glass slipper or pumpkin printed invitation card, Belle's card should have a book printed on it, Snow White can have a wishing well, a spinning wheel for Aurora's card will do, feathers for Pocahontas, Genie or a magic carpet for Jasmine, a dragon for Mulan and an "under the sea" theme for Ariel.
Now you're all set to have your little girl's tea party.
