Looking back on the soap opera Guiding Light

When I think of the Guiding Light, I think Springfield! I couldn't wait to get home from school to watch the Bauer's, Spauldings, Lewis, and Coopers. It is going to be said Friday to see the soap opera signing off after seventy years. I remember when the character Beth Raine's came on the story and how her father abused her and, when she fell in love with Philip Spaulding. I remember all the Bauers in the story. Rick Bauer, Philip's best friend, who became a doctor like his father Ed Bauer.

There was a family that I love to watch a lot on Guiding light call the Lewis, with Vanessa, Bill and Josh and they had a father called H.B. Lewis. Bill was married to Vanessa, but she had divorce, because of his drinking and other things, so he married another woman, and they had a son named Billy. They had company called Lewis Oil, which they were always fighting over with Spaulding. Their family owned a cabin called cross creek. The youngest son Josh Lewis had always loved this woman call Reva Shane. I think the two people who played these characters for years are great. I have enjoyed watching Kim Zimmer play Reva for years has been great, we have seen her go through good times and bad times. Remember when she found her son and l remember her dying from cancer. I think that Josh has been through a lot on the story with all the women that he has dated after leaving Reva.

There was so much going on in Springfield, with other people called the Coopers. There was the father Buzz Cooper who owned a company and his son Frank Cooper. Frank Cooper Buzz's son always seemed to me like he had trouble with women, because his wife had this thing about Alan Michael Spaulding, she was having a baby at the time, so wasn't sure if it was Frank's or Alan Michael's. But, it was Frank's baby, who they named Marina. Frank's wife ended up leaving the show.

There has been so many people who have been on Guiding Light through seventy years that it is hard for me to count. I have seen too many pregnancies and miscarriages and killings on the show. And the real life dying actor who played Alan Spaulding. I really would like to see Kim Zimmer and Robert Newman be together at the end of the show. I know she is with Jeffery, but I think it will always be Reva and Josh. I know that Jeffery and Reva have a baby together now, but Josh was her first love and they share two children together. So, I think at the end of the show Reva and Josh should be together! I miss The Guiding Light a lot!
