Seeing what I have seen in my life, I would have to say, "I do believe in the paranormal."
When I was a young girl, I was very close to my Grandparents. My Grandma was the most sweetest, and special person in this world to me. She took me fishing, made me special cookies, and did nice things for me.
When I was eight years old, I had an experience, that I have never forgotten to this day. It was bedtime, I had a child's bed next to my parents where I slept nightly. I went to bed one night as usual, said goodnight to my parents, and was fast asleep.
I remember waking up in the middle of the night, looking up, and at the foot of my bed, I could see my Grandma standing there, looking very beautiful. I stood up, and said "Grandma, what are you doing here?" She replied, " I have come to say goodbye to you sweetheart, and to tell you how much I love you." I started to walk to her.
My Mom heard me and said, "Who are you talking to honey, and why are you out of bed." I replied, " Grandma is here Mom, she was right here by my bed, and she came to say goodbye to me." She, said "What, you must be dreaming, just go back to bed, and get some sleep." So, back to bed I went. But, had a strange feeling inside, and it was very hard for me to get back to sleep.
The next morning, we all awoke to the ring of the phone. Hearing my parents get out of bed, and rush to the living room to answer it. I wondered who could be calling this early, and why.
Then I heard it. My Mother was crying. I got out of bed, and ran to the livingroom to see why. It was my Grandpa on the phone, and I knew then something was wrong.
My Grandma had a sudden heart attack through the night, and they could not save her. I felt a chill go through my body, I realized that what I saw through the night wasn't a dream, but was really my Grandma coming to tell me "goodbye".
I ran to my Mom, she held me tight and we both cried together. Then she looked up at me, with tears in her eyes and said, "Honey, your Grandma loved you more than anyone or anything on this earth, and you were so special to her, that she could not leave this earth without saying goodbye to you, she loved you that much."
From that day on, anytime I saw anything unusual or paranormal activity of any sort, my Mom never doubted my feelings again.
Since then, many years have gone by, and I have had many experiences with unexplained happenings, some wonderful experiences and some very sad. But, I am thankful for this gift I have been given, it is just part of who I am.
