Escaping All This
I am riding on a train
toward Paris
French Countryside whizzing by
Centuries old farmhouses in the background
Reminding me of history
I am flying in an Airbus
40,000 feet up
The coast of Ireland comes into view
It is breathtaking
Soon we land and the taxis await
I am a sojourner
Gypsy
Lover of Life
Feeling best when in motion
On the move
Leaving my cares and worries behind
A luxury
I can see new horizons
Where the old ones used to be
I think about the better times
I try to forget about the pain
I am cycling on the canal
Whizzing by the fishermen
Reeling in their catch
It seems surreal
At the same time all too real
The struggle for survival
Eat or be eaten
Beat or be beaten
I choose to travel
Effortlessly
Glide over the landscape
Just high enough to see
The big picture
But not so low
as to
Crash

And now here I am, stuck in the dust
