Throughout the fall feast
Various sets of eyes darted around the room
All in search of the dessert of choice
AAAAHHH! - There it was...
Aunt Patsy's Perfect Pumpkin Pie
The crust - flaky and golden
The pumpkin custard -a perfect combination of soft, yet firm
The aromas of fall - cinammon and nutmeg
The beautiful pastry leaves carefully placed along the edges,
Beckoned everyone to take a bite and think of
Their many blessings.

Pumpkin Pie
As mama's pies came fresh from the oven,
Rich spicy odors wafted through the air,
And we kids were tempted to
Thanksgiving Day she rose early
Her breath circled the icy morning air
Frost covered pumpkins
And dew drenched grass greeted
Is there anything as pleasing,
in this crisp and cozy season,
as a slice of smooth and creamy pumpkin pie?
