Partisan beliefs do not help America - they harm it. A difference in political beliefs is healthy, blindly following a political party is absolutely not! Americans have a God-given ability to decide for themselves. Most of us are perfectly capable of choosing what we believe and defending those beliefs. We will utilize our right to freedom of speech until those who oppose us cut out our tongues! Differing opinions and controlled, sophisticated debates will continue to move this country forward.
Blind partisanship and R and D divisions will continue to move us the wrong way.
Let me give some examples. I turn on the television. Fox is on, and as always, they are finding something about the left to yell about. Granted, many of the things they are complaining about are absolutely logical arguments! I'm watching this ridiculous liberal video that Fox is revealing where celebrities are pledging to serve President Obama... umm... isn't it 'his' job to serve 'the people!?
Fox, rightly so, complains loudly about this. It then gets worse when rumors leak that Obama will be speaking to the children when they go back to school, telling them how they can serve him, how they can help him with his agendas, etc. This is even scarier. I was outraged and prayed that this would not happen. Well, it did not. He gave a very nice speech to the children that hard work will pay off, to stick to it, and to not drop out of school, among other positive messages.
I thought to myself, "There is no way that Fox can negatively criticise this now. The rumors were false, and they should apologize." Well, the right media did not apologize. Instead, they found odd ways to make it seem like his speech was somehow 'still' negative and bad! What!? How was it negative?
That is right blind partisanship.
I then switch to MSNBC, and they are still slamming... Bush? He's gone, people, okay? Get over it! Focus on the present tense. Some of their arguments are logical. Example, Rachel Maddow was complaining that we should have been able to trust our government in their decision-making for the Iraq war. It turns out the wrong decisions were made.
She stated that we can't just shrug it off and say, "Oh, well, they made a mistake." This was our government! After she said that, then, MSNBC went on to explain how the government can somehow now be trusted to run our health care system!
That is left blind partisanship.
To keep our country moving forward, we need to encourage healthy debate. Let's not yell, let's not talk over each other and block out opposing opinions. Let's discuss the issues and present the facts. Let's ignore the Rs and ignore the Ds. Let's speak freely but speak logically. Don't hold the hand of your party, close your eyes, and follow them into the pit.
Both parties are full of much corruption! Open your eyes, let go, and join with other free-thinking Americans. We are America. First and foremost, we are one nation, not the land of Republicans and Democrats. Let's not split ourselves, but join together as one. As America.
