The best time of day for a writer to be productive will vary considerably from writer to writer. There are some people who consider themselves to be morning people, while others consider themselves night hawks. Similarly, every writer will have different life circumstances which will often go a long way to determining when they can afford to be productive.
There are many writers and people who waken up in the morning, invigorated from a good and refreshing night's sleep and ready to face the challenges of the day. These writers are likely therefore to find that the mornings are the best time of day to be productive. They are likely to have their most original thoughts at this time of day and be capable of getting them down on paper, as the chances are good that they are people who will tend to become jaded as the day wears on in to evening and they find themselves in need of sleep.
Equally, there are writers who are far from being at their best in the mornings. It may be the case that they have a natural sleep imbalance and that they take some time and perhaps several cups of coffee to fully waken up and feel capable of meeting the challenges of the day ahead. In this instance, the best time of day for a writer to be productive is likely to be the afternoon or even the evening, stretching on in to the night.
The best time of day for a writer to be productive in all cases is when they are least likely to be subject to interruption or distraction. This could be when the family and spouse are at school or work all day, or even when everyone else in the household has turned in for the night. Regardless of how productive any writer may naturally be, it will be nigh on impossible for them to concentrate when bedlam is perhaps ensuing all around and they are trying to snatch periods of peace and tranquillity where they simply can not be found.
The best time of day for a writer to be productive is therefore something vitally important which each writer should take the time to analyse in respect of their own circumstances. Performing this exercise will allow a writer to not only maximise their output but produce the quality of writing of which they know they are capable.
