Poetry: Rock-bottom

My last request

And these day I believe in this,
some bright tomorrow holds a kiss,
for me? I'm not sure I'd collect,
there's nothing meant, no disrespect,

just I'm all broken up by love,
beyond all hope of full repair,
and frankly hun, 'tween push and shove,
I'm further lost somewhere out there.

MY hurt destroys my future planned
then holds me tightly in its hand,
like some dazed bird found by a road,
caught unaware while eating toad.

so sorry I am far too weak
to promise you all that you seek....
