Poetry: Every waking moment

by Denise Paduano

Created on: September 11, 2009

Every waking moment

Of every living day

I sit at my bedside

With hands clasped and pray

For answers to the questions

I'm afraid to ask

For strength to reveal myself

And remove the mask

That keeps be weighted down

hiding the person within

Afraid of my own feelings

Afraid to commit a sin

And so I sit here in silence

Every waking moment of the day

Begging for my souls redemption

For this is what I pray
