The ten worst types of employees a boss can have

In a time of economic uncertainty you would expect that the vast majority of employees would be happy to have their job and would make sure their bosses had enough reasons to keep them employed. This however is not the case for a lot of employees, the feeling of entitlement that many of us have grown up with has spilled over to the workplace. One of largest expenses in a business is payroll, so when your employees are not productive, they are not an asset to the company, in fact they can become a serious liability. Here are the ten worst types of employees.

1. An unhappy employee: Now it is not all up to the boss to make an employee happy, but an employer should make an honest attempt to have a good employer/employee. However there some employees who will always be "unhappy" with the idea of work. Remember what a rotten apple can do.

2. Perpetually late: Even if a employee is only 5 or 10 minutes late everyday , it is a serious problem. How much effort can he be putting into a days work if he can't even put a real effort into getting there on time. This employee is usually the one who has all the excuses at the tip of their tongue.

3. Not so Honest: A lot of companies count on the honesty of their employees, to help run their business. The importance of honesty can not be understated, employees are in control of so many aspects of a business from handling cash to controlling payroll time that just one dishonest worker can take down a whole business.

4. Slacker: OK, so this is where you make or break production. Even if employees comes in to work on time everyday, are honest and don't complain, how much of an asset can they really be to the company, if he spends half of the day dreaming, surfing the Internet or goofing off. As production becomes more important with competition becoming global, it is extremely important that your employee focus on their job. Not to mention that unfocused employees can cause costly mistakes.

5. Complainer: We all know one of them, the person who can not be happy unless they are complaining. When this person takes this facet to the work place it becames a challeging problem for all. It can bring work morale down and cause problems that might of not otherwise arise.

6. Know it all: This is one can be hard to spot, you may at first be impressed with all the knowledge this employee shows, that is until you figure out he is not as smart as he let you think he was. This could lead to lot of work that needs to be redone or in worst case
