Scenes from the Diner
The nighthawks sit in somber
Sippin' coffee from their cups
Invigoratin', buzzin', makin' lovin'
From the muck
While shadow beaten faces ponder
Hopeless memories
Till the feelin' of the fire
Breaks away into disease
And the lonely hearted mongers
Meager from ennui
Take one last sip of coffee
Then turn to pay their fee
