Poetry: Every waking moment

by Lisa Beach

Created on: September 10, 2009

Every Waking Moment,

Every waking moment,

God throws Chance my way:

do I listen, and care for each so carefully,

or live my life my way:

feel that I must,

in the name of love, till eternity sways

me away unto a pain and the memories just begun.

Why should I be the one left untouched?

I will bear that waiting, waked bliss.

My every waking moment deals with cancer,

courage, and the running of time,

yet still I ask, what can I do, oh God,

to help others as I stay and

live upon this beloved earth?
